Orlando, FL – A horrific collision involving a 24-wheeler semi-truck on Interstate 4 has claimed two lives and left several others with life-threatening injuries. In the aftermath of this tragic accident, victims’ families are urgently seeking legal representation.
The chaos unfolded around 3am Thursday morning when the tractor-trailer failed to slow down for stopped traffic and slammed into multiple vehicles. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the force of the truck plowing into the line of cars triggered a massive pileup spanning several hundred feet.
“It was one of the worst crash scenes we’ve ever had to investigate,” said FHP Sergeant Michael Torres. “The damage from that semi hitting those smaller cars was just catastrophic.”
Two motorists were pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders had to use the Jaws of Life to extract three other victims who were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Five additional injuries were reported ranging from moderate to minor.
As investigators work to determine the specific cause of the accident, whether it was due to factors like fatigue, distraction or impairment, the need for legal counsel is already apparent for those impacted.
“Cases against trucking companies are extremely complex,” advised trucking accident attorney Jessica Sexton. “There are so many regulations, safety policies, and evidence that has to be properly handled by an experienced litigator.”
Sexton strongly urges victims and their families to seek legal representation immediately to ensure all potential avenues for compensation are thoroughly explored and preserved.
“Do not wait to get an attorney on your side protecting your rights,” she stated. “The trucking companies have their lawyers working behind the scenes from the moment these horrific crashes occur.”
The 24-wheeler was owned by North Florida Haulers based in Jacksonville. Charges against the driver are pending as the Florida Highway Patrol’s investigation aims to piece together the events that led to this deadly pileup.
